Perth businesses have hired almost 40 per cent more teenage apprentices this summer than last summer, Parliamentary Secretary for Employment Jason Clare announced today.

"The latest figures are in - 1720 young apprentices started an apprenticeship in between December and February," Mr Clare said.

Parliamentary Secretary for Employment Jason Clare, Brand MP Gary Gray and Fremantle MP Melissa Parke urged job seekers to attend today's Rockingham's Keep Australia Working Jobs Expo where over 500 jobs and apprenticeships will be on offer.
